This historic house with rare plants and specialist nurseries makes an ideal day out and venue for weddings, film location and photographic shoots (product and fashion)

We believe that the best food is not only home grown but also can be sourced locally.

We want to make best use of the produce we have and offer food that is bred or grown on the Estate.

Venison

The Estate venison comes from our own deer park which contains both Red and Fallow Deer. The meat is expertly butchered and prepared and you can buy sausages, burgers, steak, joints or stewing meat, all of which help to make the perfect meal.

If you wish to order some venison then please download details of our venison boxes here. To place an order, please email us.

If you want some inspiration, we have some delicious vension recipes.

Vegetables

The recently renovated vegetable garden contains many different types of fruit and vegetables; some of the varieties are old and will not be seen on the supermarket shelves.

The walled garden, which is over an acre in size, would have housed the vegetable garden and supplied food to the main house as well as Estate Staff. These gardens were very labour intensive and when, after the First World War, staff were scarce and labour costs high, many Estates let their walled garden become neglected. The vegetable garden you will see at Spetchley has been renovated over the last two years and now grows some wonderful produce.

Home grown vegetables smell and taste so much better than those you find in the supermarkets. However, be warned that they do not come in uniform shapes and sizes!

During the Summer a certain amount of the produce will be sold at the admission trailer in the garden but only on days that the garden is open to visitors. Why not pop in to the garden to see what is for sale?

The future

We are looking to increase the produce that we sell on the Estate. Watch this space to see when Beef, Lamb and Pork become available to buy, or sign up to our email newsletter!
