More than 30 nurseries selling some of the more rare plus everyday plants and shrubs will be returning to Spetchley. We welcomed over 1,200 visitors last year who came seeking rare and wonderful plants to kick start the summer planting . This will be the ideal opportunity to stock up on your herbaceous, alpine and woody plants for 2012 as well as enjoyed a discounted entry to the see the gardens in their Spring glory.
Gates will open at 11am and close at 5pm. There will be plenty of food and refreshments avaialable and the Spetchley Tea Room, run by the reknowned Worcester caterers, Chanterelles will be serving lunch and cream teas.
Come and enjoy these wonderful gardens. We look forward to seeing you.
You can take a look at the Plant Fair website here.
The National Garden Scheme
Every year the Garden, one of the very first in the country to become a member of the NGS, opens it gates free to members of the NGS - please visit their website, to find out how you can become a member.
The NGS raises £2 million each year for nursing, caring and gardening charities. Since 1927 they have raised over £45 million (£25 million in the last 10 years).
Most of the 3,600 gardens are privately owned. Some open as part of a group which gets the whole community involved. But all the gardens are enjoyed by the garden owners and their visitors, funding charities to help people who are ill or under stress.
Spetchley was one of the first to open its gates to the NGS and the tradition has continued ever since.
In 2012 the garden will open on behalf of the NGS on Friday 6th April and Sunday 8th July
M5 - When history comes alive
On 18th & 19st of August 2012 six ages of history will become one and descend on Spetchley. Re-enactors from the Viking, Tudor, Civil War, American Civil War, Napoleonic, Boer War and 2nd World War eras will bring history to life recreating their living, fighting and training techniques. It is the ideal place to come and handle a broad sword, infantryman's pike or browning machine gun.
This is the perfect opportunity to bring the whole family and discover how people lived, worked and fought through time.
Come and see what they ate, slept on and used as weapons. Watch the armies train and do battle but above all come to Spetchley and have some fun.
This event, on such a scale has never been held at Spetchley before so it will be a wonderful day out for all the family.
Normal Garden opening prices do not apply and we are sorry to say that there will be no concessions. 2 for 1 entry tickets will still apply. Entry costs; Adults £7.50, children £2.50 and a Family Ticket for £20. Gates open at 11am.
We regret that no dogs except for dogs for the blind are allowed into the event
