PlantSales1

We offer a selection of plants and shrubs for sale

Most of which can be found within the garden. We do try to keep our sales seasonal so what you see in the garden is replicated in the sales which are situated in the car park so you do not have to carry them far to your car.

It is the ideal place to source rarer plants that you may not otherwise find outside the major nurseries. Please see below a sample of the plants we are selling at the moment.

Vegetables for sale

When in season we will also sell vegetables from the newly renovated Kitchen Garden in which we like to grow many older varieties of fruit and vegetables.

In the past, houses like Spetchley would grow all their own produce and the Kitchen Garden would have catered for all the family’s needs as well as for all the staff who worked on the Estate.

Kitchen Gardens demand a lot of attention and it would have been the sole responsibility of one or two full time gardeners to tend to the fruit and vegetables.

After the First World War many Kitchen Gardens were lost as there simply wasn’t the workforce to look after them. However, they are making a comeback as people are beginning to realise that home grown produce is not only good for you but it decreases the amount of air miles that our food has to travel.

Merchandise

We have a very small selection of garden themed gifts that are for sale, ranging from mugs to gift cards and pocket secateurs. It is the ideal place to buy a small thankyou gift or present for a friend.

The shop is situated in the Coach Yard in the admissions trailer.

Sadly we cannot accept debit or credit cards for admissions or sale of merchandise, but there is a credit card facility in the Tea Room should you require cash back although there will be a minor charge to use this service.
