HISTORY COMES ALIVE
Armies of re-enactors from the Viking, Medieval, Civil War, Napoleonic Wars, Crimean wars, Boer Wars and two World Wars eras descended upon Spetchley on the 20th & 21st August
The Worcester re-enactors orchestrated a superb show of living history displays, battles, parades and a working Battle of Britain RAF Operations room all of which gave the 1,000 plus visitors a taste of how our armies and their entourages lived, eat, trained and fought.
What made the whole weekend surreal was watching a soldier from World War 2 chatting happily to a viking wench as all the 7 periods of history met, mingled and shared stories with each other and our visitors.
It proved to be the ideal family day out in Worcestershire set amidst this beautiful garden which was used as a recuperation centre for the US air force during the Second World War.
We hope that we can host the event again next year and that as many as possible will come and watch and learn from these wonderfully dedicated groups.
