Pre-booked groups are welcome

We welcome pre booked groups to visit the garden. It is the ideal way to spend a day with your friends, club or society. Because of its size Spetchley offers a wonderful opportunity for you to learn about many aspects of gardening.

We offer a guided tour to pre booked groups of 20 people. It is the ideal way to see the garden and to hear how the garden has evolved over the years as well as listen to how the team of gardeners cope with looking after a garden this size.

We can offer evening tours rounded off by a dinner in the Old Laundry Tea Rooms provided by Chanterelles.

The garden has many different forms of garden, each demanding a different way of management. There are many aspects of gardening all coming together to make your experience as enjoyable as possible.

Each tour will take up to 90 minutes and allow you to ask questions on various garden management issues.

If you do wish to bring a party to the garden and maybe even have a guided tour please fill in the form below.

The Elgar Birthplace Museum – a joint tour

Spetchley has a very special relationship with Edward Elgar, England’s finest composer. He would spend much time at the gardens with the Berkeley family and even went to school at St Anne’s School, opposite the front gates to the garden. He stayed in the gardener’s cottage where he penned part of his masterpiece, the Dream of Gerontius, inspired by his walks through the copse listening to the wind blowing through the pine trees.

We have teamed up with the Elgar Birthplace Museum and offer a wonderful way to spend a day for groups wishing to have an outing.

Please email the Museum to find out more details and how to book a tour
